Study programs
The most important activity of Koroška centre for Higher
education is the preparation of new higher education programs in prosperous areas.
In the adacemic year 2007/ 2008, after completing the
required accreditation procedure of the Polymer Technology College and the 1st
level study programme Polymer Technology at the Council for higher Education of
Republic Slovenia, we were glad to enroll the firstgeneration of students to
the first independent college in Koroška and the fist college of this kind in
Slovenia.
In March 2009 the Polymer Technology College also succeded
to accredit the 2nd level- Master’s study programme for Polymer Technology. You

In year 2009, University College of Health Sciences was
established and opened its doors in autumn 2009 for the fisrt generation of
part- time students of 1st level study
programme Nursing Care. You can read more about the University College of

In the academic year 2009/ 2010 the students of dislocated
units of TURISTICA- Faculty of Tourism Studies Portorož (University of
Primorska) and Faculty of Health Sciences (University of Maribor) successfully
entered their 3rd year of studies.
Currently we are also developing the undergraduate study
programme: 1st level study programme »Web applications«. We are certain
that establishments of other independent colleges in Koroška will follow.
Furthermore we are trying to widen the current network of
higher (post-secondary) education programs in the region and enable people a
better access to them.
Currently the network is stil very weak and is negatively
effecting the situation on the labour market.
